Gale Lynne Warner, a valued colleague of RMI, died on Dec. 28, 1991. A teacher, writer and citizen diplomat, Gale was one of those bright lights who helped “melt the Cold War.” Beginning in 1993, she made a dozen trips to Eastern Europe to work with and write about average people and their struggles for freedom.

Gale’s legacy of concern for the earth goes on in her books and the Stratford Ecological Center, a wildlife preserve and experiential educational center for children. What a splendid memorial for an extraordinary woman!…
